National Safety Corporation: Operation Salute
Tustin, CA— The National Safety Corporation announced details of the third special operation to unite service members deployed in Iraq with loved ones
here is the U.S. - Operation Salute.  Spawned from the incredible success of Operation Connect and Operation Love Connect  the Operation Salute event
will unite loved ones in honor of Memorial Day.  Honoring Memorial Day, the name “Operation Salute” was chosen because it embodies so many of the
sentiments we want to bestow on our brave service members and their families.  A salute of respect & remembrance to those that have made the ultimate
sacrifice; a salute of appreciation to those that are currently serving and are willing to make the ultimate sacrifice; a salute of gratitude for the sacrifices
made by the families of our deployed service men and women and, finally, a salute of hope that every service man returns home safely.

The first two events allowed Marines deployed in Iraq, the opportunity to have a live, face-to-face Internet based video conversation with loved ones here in
the United States.  Using the Instant Presenter web presentation and conferencing system, the families received a live 20 to 30 minute video meeting with
their loved one serving in Iraq.  The Rotary Club of Vista and the Boys and Girls Club of Vista, which hosted the local “Connection Stations”, are again acting
as the hosts for the special event.  Marines from the 1st Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion (1st LAR), the “Highlanders”, deployed from Camp
Pendleton, California and their families will participate in the third installment of this very meaningful operation.

The Operation Salute global event will take place on Saturday, May 26, 2007 and will start at approximately 9:00 am PST.  It will take place at the Boys &
Girls Club of Vista at 410 W. California Ave, Vista, CA 92083.  There will be three separate private rooms for the families to speak to their loved ones.  The
service members in Iraq will also have a private area to enjoy the time as they speak with and actually see their family members.  Local community and
political leaders are expected to attend, as well as some military leadership reviewing the way the system works.  Interest in the program has also been
expressed by the office of California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger.  Wanting to show his support, but unable to personally attend the event because of
scheduling conflicts, the Governor’s office has arranged for Gilbert Acevedo, Acting Administrator of the Veterans Home of California – Chula Vista, to
represent the Governor and the California Department of Veterans Affairs by attending the event on his behalf.
